THE RED LIST CATS WE’RE LOSING

The Far Eastern Leopard cat (Forest cat, Amur cat) is the
northernmost subspecies of the Bengal cat and is listed in the Red
List of Primorsky Krai.

Vulnerable species. There are all prerequisites for the loss of the
species in the foreseeable future. It plays one of the key roles in
maintaining the balance of ecosystems in which it still lives.

Why We Help

The main reason for the disappearance of Leopard cat lies in the anthropogenic impact on the species. Grass fires, highways without crossings for animals, trapping, killings by farmers.

What We Do

Direct animal rescue in a field, rehabilitation and readaptating cats. Indirect rescue with educational facility. Scientific conservation by tracing genetic for make this cat more valuable to the Russian Red List.

How It Help

The project receives minimal private donations, yet unites experts and activists. In 2024, we gained state authorization for cat work. Currently, we assist injured leopard cats in only 15% of cases.
